Refugee Week was celebrated 19-25 June 2017. A wide range of events were held throughout Scotland to recognise the contributions refugees have made and are making to enrich our community.
Some highlights in Edinburgh were:
- ‘The Art of Connection,’ a portrait exhibit of refugee faces by artist Hannah Rose Thomas shown at The Scottish Parliament.
- A lovely concert hosted by Refugee Survival Trust.
- A pilgrimage walk organised by Scottish Faiths Action for Refugees and Christian Aid.
In all these, refugee’s gifts and contributions were celebrated and we experienced Scottish spirit of solidarity and welcoming.
